An explosion causing death on Nun’s Island

A work-related accident occurred Thursday June 30^th on Nun’s Island on Gaspé Street. Three men were doing renovations on the 7^th floor of an apartment building when an explosion occurred after one of the men lit a cigarette. It provoked the detonation and ignited highly flammable vapors from a floor finish container.

Three men were sent to hospital, one in his forties, and two in their twenties. One of the men in his twenties had injuries to 90% of his body and he succumbed to his injuries on the afternoon of July 2nd.
