Opening of the largest plant of succinic acid in Ontario

In August 2015, the company BioAmber Inc. carried out the opening of its renewable acids plant in Sarnia, Ontario. It is said to be the largest facility of its kind in the world. It has the capability of producing approximately 30,000 tons annually of succinic acid, an acid that is renewable because it is produced from sugar and not oil.
Succinic acid is found in everyday products such as polyurethanes, paints, adhesives, sealants and more.
